Hello fellow golf nuts and musicians!
The ROCKIN' CADDIE INVITATIONAL is an idea that was
formulated by Paul Barrere, guitarist and lead vocalist from the band,
Little Feat, and Andy Davidson, PGA & Champions Tour Caddie to raise
money and awareness for ALS, better known as Lou Gehrig's Disease.
Both have lost dear friends to this horrible disease, and both have done
extensive work in fundraising for local chapters. They have
combined their efforts in a larger scale operation that would be more
lucrative, while affording a unique opportunity for supporters to have
an incredible day of golf and a wonderful night of music. This
event would serve the larger purpose of raising funds for Hope Happens
at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, a leading research center into this
dreaded disease.
The plan is simple, pair one legendary rock star with a
professional caddie, and build teams of five players into a golf
tournament that would be played at the Las Vegas Country Club
just off the strip in October of 2012,
on the Monday of the PGA's tour stop there. Registration will
also include a Dinner, an auction of golf and rock and roll
memorabilia, and a concert featuring some of our rockin' invitees,
held at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino.
The Rockin' Caddie Invitational is a
501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and all donations are tax
deductible.
